Workshop-Training on Popularization of Science
What does a good popular science text look like? What are the secrets to explaining something complicated, like a master's or thesis project, in a simple way?
The Journal La Synthèse, in collaboration with the INRS Communications Department, invites you to a hands-on workshop given by none other than Audrey-Maude Vézina, science communications advisor and social media manager at the INRS. Audrey-Maude has published numerous popular science articles and won the prestigious Fernand-Séguin scholarship in 2018. This award allowed her to complete internships as a science journalist at Science-Presse, Québec Science, La Presse, and Radio-Canada.
During this workshop, you'll discover the behind-the-scenes aspects of scientific communication. You'll analyze short popular science texts to identify their strengths and weaknesses and suggest improvements. You'll be given tips and tricks so you can write your own popular article that could be published in the journal La Synthèse.
